The Sojourner Truth Legacy Scholarship (Akron Public Schools graduating seniors)
We are excited to announce the 3rd annual offering of the Sojourner Truth Legacy Scholarship! This generous $5,000 scholarship is a collaboration between the Akron Press Club and the Sojourner Truth Project - Akron. It aims to support a promising Akron Public Schools (APS) student who will pursue a degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or public relations beginning in Fall 2026.
Eligibility:
be a current Senior on track for graduation in one of the Akron Public Schools in Spring 2026
be accepted into a college or university for full-time status beginning in Fall 2026
Planning to major in a degree relating to journalism, communications, marketing, or public relations

The Sojourner Truth Legacy Community Scholarship
We are excited to announce the inaugural offering of the Sojourner Truth Legacy Community Scholarship! Two $1,000 scholarships are being offered, one to a Summit County graduating senior and one to a current college student who either is a current Summit County resident attending college outside of the county or currently attending a college or university in Summit County.
Eligibility:
be a current high school student at a Summit County high school furthering their education past high school; or
currently enrolled in a college or university in Summit County or resident of Summit County
No field of study restrictions
